After exhibiting art and trading from our beautiful gallery the heart of Great Yarmouth’s historic centre, “Skippings Gallery” became “Skippings Fine Arts”, as we moved our business online.

Well –  not quite! Paintings and sculptures are physical objects, not just images. They should -and need- to be appreciated “in the flesh”.

Giving up the Yarmouth Gallery is allowing me to do more events, more fairs, and to meet you –  artworks in hand –  wherever you might be: in Paris, Norwich, London, or elsewhere in the world.  Moreover, it leaves me more time to attend auctions all over France to find the highest quality, most exciting and best value  artworks for you, my clients.

Most of the gallery’s current stock of artworks predating the 1960s is now clearly and professionally presented  on “Sellingantiques”. You may view it here:

I am also in the process of listing artworks in the “Shop online” section – so please do take a look! The newest addition will be a magnificent, intriguing collection of five illustrations of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick – preview below.

Touchingly, the painting bears the artist’s full address in Paris on the verso of the frame. It is likely that the picture figured in the 1959 exhibitionat the Galerie Bernheim-Jeune, and that she shipped it herself to a collector – on 12-12-1959.
